Week 8, June 16 - 22

Thursday, June 17th
Wow. Time is just flying by. And as you can tell I haven't had much time to write. Ella has definately been keeping me busy. She hasn't been sleeping for very long at a time, so I'm barely getting anything done when she does nap. We may have a bit of a break through with the swing though. Last night we put her in it after she was all ready asleep (and tightly swaddled) and she slept for 3 1/2 hours. The rest of the night we just got 2 hour stretches out of her, but compared to the last two nights in which I slept no longer than an hour and a half at any one time, well, that's an improvement of sorts. She's napping right now in the swing too. I'm curious to see how long she'll nap for.

She's been a bit of a fussy baby I'd say. I'm looking forward to when she can communicate in other ways. Hope I'm not repeating myself. I know this very thought runs through my head every single day.

She has a little friend that she likes to talk to and try and reach out to touch. Her name is Minnie Mouse. We'll set her and Minnie in the crib and Ella will wiggle her way closer to Minnie 'til she can touch her, and she talks to her. It's fun to see her trying to interact with the world around her now.

A lot of people ask what I'm going to do about work. I've been unemployed for quite some time now, and God willing, I will remain so until Ella is one year old. That's the goal anyways. Isaac and I feel it'd be best for Ella to be home with us, than in daycare. I can't imagine leaving her with strangers while she's so young.
