16 months - 8/29/05
It's been 7 months since the last update. I guess I've just been trying to give you glimpses here and there via the Quick Stats and the photo pages. I didn't even manage to update Ella's dr appointments page after her 15 month check up. All was well though.
We continue to teach Ella sign language. That's been so much fun. She picks up signs very quickly now. The words she can verbalize she first learned how to sign. Recently she actually said "banana". Amazing... it's a pretty difficult word when you think about it. She can also say "da da", "book", "cat", "hi", "hot", "hat", "shoes"... maybe more. Can't think right now. :P
Ella now runs like the wind. And climbs. Even runs away. She is fearless and not one bit cautious. She gives kisses and hugs freely and loves to sit in your lap and watch the Wiggles... well, that is when she's not busy dancing to the Wiggles. Did I mention she loves the Wiggles?
Ella's got a mouth full of teeth finally. She's making up for serious lost time since she didn't cut the first tooth until she turned 12.5 months. She's now got 10 teeth!! All in 3.5 months time. Poor baby.
We've enjoyed our summer but I can't wait for fall. Mornings can be hard to entertain her, so once fall gets going the open gyms open back up. We'll be able to visit an open gym 4 days out of the week. These are designed for toddlers so there are lots of toys for Ella to play with and lots of space to run around, not to mention other kids to watch and learn from. We'll be checking out the Little Gym as well which has structured gymnastics type classes. Ella loves to be tumbled so I figured it'd be worth a try.
That's about it for an update. She continues to grow and learn. She continues to amaze us on a daily basis. It's wonderful.
